How to get this to work?
- Install the latest version of the ndiswrapper
(in YAST, use this repository, follow the tutorial here) - Get the latest driver for the Netgear wg511v1
(see the Ndiswrapper WIKI: Card Listing) - Extract the exe file and copy the /Driver/netwg511.inf file to openSUSE
- Start up NDISGTK
- Click add driver and locate the inf file
- Plug in your network card, the NDISGTK should tell you the hardware is present
- Start up the Network Devices > Network Card program
- Select the SMC network card and click Configure
- On the general tab, set the Device Activation to At Boot Time
- Restart openSUSE
- The card will be detected and you can connect to your preferred wireless network
